Elena studied aeronautical and mechanical engineering at the University of Cambridge, where she obtained her Bachelor and Master (2023) degrees. Working under the supervision of Dr. Stuart Scott, she specialised in energy flows. Her Master thesis focused on developing a computational simulation of Direct Air Capture systems. Using numerical modelling, the transient adsorption of CO2 in packed bed reactors was evaluated. Elena joined the Laboratory of Energy Science and Engineering in October 2023 to begin her PhD. She currently focuses on surface engineering of oxygen carriers for chemical looping applications.
