FAQ

1. Admitted before 01.01.2022: Use the Download course attendance sheet (PDF, 25 KB).
2. Admitted after 01.01.2022:  You can register for summer schools and conferences via the course catalogue in myStudies (‘Integration into the academic community’ section). For other events outside ETH, you can apply in myStudies for the transfer of approved coursework from other universities. To do this, upload the confirmation of participation and the confirmation from your supervisor that the CPs have been recognised for your doctoral studies.

The D-MAVT doctoral administration will only organise a video conference for a doctoral examination if one of the members of the examination committee is unable to attend in person. In all other cases, the doctoral candidate is free to organise a video conference themselves.

As soon as you have received confirmation of your fully planned doctoral examination, complete the “Download Registration for a doctoral examination (PDF, 725 KB)” form, and have it signed by your supervisor. Send the completed and signed form to the D-MAVT doctoral administration no later than 21 calendar days before the doctoral examination. 

The D-MAVT Doctoral Administration Office will send the form to the ETH Doctoral Administration Office with confirmation of the credits earned. 

Please fill out the form “Registration for a doctoral examination”, sign it, let your doctoral supervisor sign it, and send it to the D-MAVT doctoral administration after you received the confirmation of your fully planned doctoral exam. That must be 21 calendar days before the doctoral examination at the latest.
The D-MAVT doctoral administration will send the form to the ETH doctoral administration with the confirmation of acquired credits for doctoral studies. 

You must hand in your deposit copies no later than three months after the department conference. At the earliest, you may hand in the deposit copies upon receipt of your provisional confirmation sent out after the department conference. However, before you hand in your deposit copies to the ETH Doctoral Administration Office (HG), it is compulsory to upload an electronic version of your thesis to the Research Collection. You may only upload the electronic version of your thesis after the department conference. The department does not need a deposit copy.
