Projects
During my MSc ETH in Environmental Sciences I investigated the injection of CO2-rich waste waters at a geothermal power plant in Iceland. This triggered my interest in CCS and CO2 mineralization. The goal of my research is to design a mineralization process that removes CO2 from a flue gas and converts it into a durable, marketable carbonate product - thus combining the elements of CO2 capture, storage and utilization. In parallel, I promote outreach activities, e.g. via the CCS dissemination project Carbon Storage Showcase.
Before starting the PhD, I authored the Download status report for CCS in Switzerland on behalf of the BAFU (2008). Then, I was a researcher within the CARMA project (2009-2012), I contributed to the Download roadmap for a CCS pilot project in Switzerland (2013), and became a member of the external page SCCER-SoE (2014).
