Dominik Strebel is a scientific collaborator at the Chair of Building Physics at ETH Zurich. Currently he mainly works on simulation of urban heat islands and model improvement by using ML techniques. He holds a MSc FHO in Engineering, Energy and Environment, from HSR Rapperswil. During his studies he focused on climate models for forecasting renewable energy production and Smart Grids. For his Master Thesis he developed a coupled climate and multiphysics model for overhead power lines in mountainous terrain. During this time he also worked on a kilometer scale WRF weather forecast model and improved reliability by nudging UAV measurements into the model.

Before his studies, he held several positions in IT industry. He developed software in C++ and Python and worked as a freelance Data Scientist.
