Safety
In order to prevent accidents and injuries in laboratories and workshops, the Department has worked with the Safety, Security, Health and Environment department (SSHE) to develop recommendations, guidelines and binding conditions.
Safety regulations apply to all laboratories, workshops and technology platforms, and at least one professor is responsible for maintaining these. Students and researchers must familiarize themselves with the respective safety regulations before using laboratories, workshops and machines. With these measures, the department aims to ensure maximum safety at work for its students, researchers and employees.
Hazards in all laboratories
Chemical and mechanical-physical hazards may be encountered in almost all D-MAVT laboratories. All students and researchers are therefore required to take the following tests:
- Test "Safety in the laboratory" (chemical hazards)
- Test "Safety in the machine shop" (mechanical-physical hazards)
Students and researchers must provide the relevant professorship with proof that they have taken these tests.
Additional hazards for individual professorships
In addition to the chemical and mechanical-physical hazards, other specific hazards occur for individual professorships. Please refer to the table below.
