For the first time, ETH Zurich has presented its KITE Award for innovative teaching concepts. The university recognised ETH Professor Mirko Meboldt for his “Innovation Project” and “Leading Engineering Projects and Coaching Design Teams” courses.

Georgios Kelesidis, doctoral student in Prof. Sotiris E. Pratsinis' group, received a Poster Prize at PARTEC 2016, the International Congress on Particle Technology, 19 - 21 April 2016, Nuremberg, Germany.

Dr. Ursula Rasthofer, postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Petros Koumoutsakos' group, will be the recipient of the ECCOMAS PhD Award 2016 for her Doctoral thesis at TU Munich under the supervision of Dr. Volker Gravemeier and Prof. Wolfgang Wall.

The SNF-funded project "Electricity Storage via Adiabatic Air Compression" of Prof. Aldo Steinfeld's group was featured at the Swiss Energy Research Conference on 14 April in Lucerne. The project head, Dr. Andreas Haselbacher, described the technology and the status of the pilot demonstration in a tunnel in Biasca. The concept is explained in the video.

The Landbote reports about robots, which will take over operations in the near future. Franziska Ullrich and Prof. Bradley Nelsons group developed a microrobot for eye operation, which was described in the article.

Anton Bauhofer, doctoral student in Prof. Chiara Daraio's group, is a finalist in the SRF TV show "Die grössten Schweizer Talente". He has convinced the jury with his talent "Comedy-Jonglage". The final will be shown on Saturday, 9 April at 8.00 p.m. on SRF 1.
