Awards for students from Particle Technology Laboratory

Georgios Kelesidis received the IBM Research Prize 2017 for his Master’s Thesis at the Particle Technology Laboratory. Two former doctoral students from the lab’s research group received a best poster award.

Georgios Kelesidis, doctoral student at Professor Sotiris Pratsinis’ Particle Technology Laboratory (PTL), was awarded the IBM Research Prize 2017 for his Master’s Thesis on the evolution of carbon black and soot structures by discrete element modeling. He provided a realistic picture of agglomeration and surface growth of soot particles in combustion processes or as pollutants in the atmosphere.

Further, PTL’s former doctoral students Anastasia Spyrogianni and Eirini Goudeli received the Best Poster Award from the Particle Technology Forum at the 2017 AIChE Annual Meeting.
