Ramon Calvo Gonzalez, Changan Chen, Nicole Ferru, Ben Hallworth, Zoe Hoek, Robin Jahn, Sophie Leichtle, Jonas Matt, David Müller and Shobhit Singhal are among the recipients of the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP). With this program, ETH Zurich supports students who are among the best of their year. The scholarship covers their tuition and living expenses throughout their Master's studies. The university’s objective is to support them so that they can develop their full potential.

Each year, more than 1000 students apply for the ESOP. Their applications are evaluated by a central committee, and the most promising candidates are invited for personal interviews. The final decision on the scholarships is made by Sarah Springman, Rector of ETH Zurich. The program is fully funded by donations to the external page ETH Foundation.
