Brendan Bulfin appointed Professor
Brendan Bulfin, senior researcher in the Renewable Energy Carriers group of Professor Aldo Steinfeld at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, was appointed to an Associate Professor (Lectureship) position in Sustainable Materials at University College Cork, Ireland.

Donghoon Kim, former doctoral student of Salvador Pané i Vidal, Professor of Materials for Robotics at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich, has been awarded the Schwäbisch Gmünd Prize for Young Scientists 2023.

The opening of "Metal Makerspace”
The "Metal Makerspace" in the CLA building officially opened yesterday. The new facility is a joint project of D-MAVT, the techpool and the Student Project House (SPH). Students will have access to the metal workshops starting in the fall semester of 2023.
Festschrift in honor of Aldo Steinfeld
To recognize the scientific contributions of Aldo Steinfeld, Head of the Renewable Energy Carriers group at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich, as a pioneer in solar thermochemistry, the Solar Energy Journal published in March 2023 a "Festschrift" as a tribute to his achievements. The publication is the official journal of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES).
