Schülerinnen*tag 2023
Each year, around 80 young women* from high schools from all over Switzerland take part in the Schülerinnen*tag, organized by the student organisation LIMES. During this all-day event, the participants do a campus tour, visit a couple of labs, and receive first-hand information about the study programmes in electrical and mechanical engineering.
A wide range of opportunities
ETH alumnae Joy Stekhoven and Phyllis Hofmann talked about their experiences during their studies. Joy Stekhoven is now working as a data analyst at SBB after completing her Master's degree at D-ITET. D-MAVT graduate Phyllis Hofmann works at the ETH spin-off Scewo. Following a brief overview of student life, including professional associations and Master's degree programs, the tour continued after the lunch break with visits to various laboratories in both departments.
The program included ths Autonomous Systems Lab (ASL) and Robotic Systems Lab (RSL), the Institute for Mechanical Systems (IMES), the Engineering Design and Computing Laboratory (EDAC), the Optical Materials Engineering Laboratory (OMEL), the Laboratory of Biosensors and Bioelectronics (LBB), the Institute for Dynamic Systems and Control (IDSC) as well as the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Gruppe (CMR) and the High Voltage Laboratory.
At the end of the day, the students had the opportunity to chat with the LIMES students and each other over a delicious cake buffet.
