Last Monday, the Paul Scherrer auditorium, - the largest one at ETH Zurich - was not big enough to welcome the 720 new D-MAVT students on Monday. Thus, a live broadcast was set up in the neighboring auditorium. Nearly twenty percent of all new students at ETH have chosen to study mechanical engineering. Since 2000, the number of students in D-MAVT has risen steadily, and in 2022 it will exceed 500 for the first time. With 720 new students, the number has now increased by 24 percent compared to the previous year. About 83 percent of the new students come from Switzerland and about 18 percent are women.
