Antonio Gasós receives the 2025 Inflection Award

Antonio Gasós, a doctoral student at the Separation Processes Laboratory within the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich, has received the Inflection Award for his research on CO2 storage in mineral materials.

The Inflection Award recognizes 30 young scientists working on innovative solutions to address climate change. The award ceremony took place on 11 March 2025 in Paris.

Gasós is currently completing his doctoral thesis at the Separation Processes Laboratory under the supervision of Marco Mazzotti, Professor Emeritus at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. His research focuses on the large-scale use of CO₂ storage in industrial waste, such as concrete residues or ash from waste incineration plants. This process permanently binds carbon dioxide in the materials, reducing emissions and promoting a low-carbon circular economy.
