Elena Totter receives Student Award from the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation
Elena Totter, a Master's graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT) at ETH Zurich, has received the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation Student Award for her Master's thesis.

The SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation annually recognizes outstanding Master's and diploma theses in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and economics. The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros and was awarded on 16 May 2025 in Graben-Neudorf, Germany.
Totter received the award for her Master's thesis, titled "Fluorescence-Guided Analysis of Ceramic Implant Fractions," which was supervised by Inge Herrmann, accredited Professor of Nanoparticle Systems Engineering at D-MAVT.
After successfully completing both her Bachelor's and Master's degree at D-MAVT, Totter is currently pursuing her doctoral research at the ETH Medical Microsystems Laboratory under the supervision of Professor Simone Schürle-Finke. The laboratory develops diagnostic and therapeutic systems at the nano and microscale for applications in the healthcare sector.
