Cellsius Project H2
Project
Aviation accounts for more than 13 percent of all CO2 emissions in Switzerland. In the "Project H2" focus project, students from the CELLSIUS association are working on developing a climate-neutral aircraft. To achieve this, the team is integrating a hydrogen-powered propulsion system into a light aircraft from Swiss manufacturer Lightwing. The small aircraft, model AC4, accommodates two people. The students are replacing the combustion engine with an electric motor powered by a fuel cell. The aim is to make the aircraft emission-free, quieter, more economical, and to provide an environmentally friendly alternative for training and recreational flights.
