RAPTURE
Project
Additive manufacturing encompasses processes where materials are deposited layer by layer to produce components. One of these 3D printing techniques is the repeated deposition and selective melting of metal powder with a laser. This technique allows for design freedom for components with particularly fine and complex geometries. In the "RAPTURE" focus project, a new machine architecture is being developed to produce parts from two different metals. The team is developing a particularly fast and powder-saving process that can be used in aerospace and many other industries.
