Additive manufacturing in Switzerland
The Product Development Group (PDZ) of ETH Zurich published a study on additive mass production in Switzerland. The publication portrays the technical possibilities of modern additive manufacturing.
With additive manufacturing, tailor-made and complex parts can be produced. The areas of application range from spare parts for machines to medical implants. This technology has long been established for the construction of prototypes. Due to further development, the technology is now also ripe for industrial mass production.
Together with the AM Network the Product Development Group (PDZ) of ETH Zurich has published a study on additive mass production in Switzerland. The AM Network is the National Thematic Network (NTN) on additive manufacturing and is supported by Innosuisse, the Swiss agency for innovation promotion. The “Swiss AM Guide” portrays ten examples of mass production with additive manufacturing. The aim is to make additive manufacturing more well-known and to show today`s possibilities of the technology.
