Best student papers in robotics control
Students from the research group of Jonas Buchli, Professor at the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, were honored for their papers at international conferences.
Markus Giftthaler, Michael Neunert and Markus Stäuble (together with Jonas Buchli) received the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Simulation, Modeling, and Programming 2018 (SIMPAR). The students authored and presented a paper on "external page Control Toolbox - An Open-Source C++ Library for Robotics, Optimal and Model Predictive Control".The toolbox allows for intelligent motion control of Robots among others.
At the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation 2018 (ICRA) the Best Paper Award in Automation went to Manuel Lussi, Tim Sandy, Kathrin Dörfler, Norman Hack, Fabio Gramazio, Matthias Kohler and Jonas Buchli for their publication on “Accurate and Adaptive In situ Fabrication of an Undulated Wall using an On-Board Visual Sensing System”. The research was done in the frame of the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Digital Fabrication. For the first time the mobile robot “external page In situ Fabricator” built a external page free-form steel-reinforced concrete wall directly on a construction site.
