Ines Weber wins GAeF PhD Award 2022
Ines Weber, former doctoral student at the Particle Technology Laboratory of Professor Sotiris Pratsinis at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, wins the GAeF PhD Award at the 2022 International Aerosol Conference for her outstanding doctoral thesis. Another doctoral student and a Master's student from the lab receive poster awards.
Ines Weber is honored for her doctoral thesis "Selective gas sensing by flamemade catalytic filters". The GAeF Phd Award is given to young scientists whose ideas have provided decisive stimulus in the area of aerosol research and who are recognized as outstanding among their peers in their field.
Una Trivanovic, doctoral student at the Particle Technology Laboratory of Professor Pratsinis, is awarded the "Environmental Sciences: Atmospheres Poster Prize" for her poster "Carbonaceous aerosol formation and growth by enclosed spray combustion of hydrocarbons".
Master's student Pier-Giuseppe Rivano also receives the "Environmental Sciences: Atmospheres Poster Prize" for his poster "Light extinction and steam generation by gold nanoparticle agglomerates".
The prizes were awarded by the “Gesellschaft für Aerosolforschung” (GAeF) at the 11th International Aerosol Conference in Athens from 4-9 September 2022. Over 1000 people attended the conference.
