Project

Twenty percent of Switzerland's CO2 emissions come from passenger cars. Particularly large vehicles consume a lot of energy due to their mass. With the focus project aCentauri, students aim to demonstrate how vehicles can be significantly more environmentally friendly through lightweight construction, improved aerodynamics, and an efficient powertrain. The team has succeeded in designing a car powered exclusively by solar cells on the vehicle, capable of reaching highway speeds. In autumn 2025, aCentauri will participate for the second time in the "Bridgestone World Solar Challenge," a solar car race spanning over 3,000 kilometers through the Australian Outback.
