Avero
Project
Drones' propellers pose a risk: people can get injured by the rotating blades, and collisions can damage objects or the drone itself. Therefore, the eleven-member team of the "AVERO" focus project aims to relocate the propellers inside the drone: the propellers are housed in tubes, and the generated airflow is controlled via swivel nozzles. This propulsion system allows the drone to rotate around two axes more freely than conventional models and fly closely along objects. Potential applications include inspection tasks on hard-to-reach infrastructure and in busy environments such as construction sites.
